  • About Japanese Etiquette:
It's considered the proper thing to be polite to any who are your superiors. This means teachers, anyone older than you, parents, and older siblings. Being polite means saying thank you for what you recieve (and sometimes what you don't recieve). In feudal Japan, a sign of respect was to bow low on your knees and hands in front of your host, and when addressing a superior one must do this.
